Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

As it was mentioned last night, 2008 has been an eventful year.  There have been a lot of national ups and downs.  I’m sure you can say the same about your life in 2008.  It’s easy to forget we have a lot to be thankful for when our circumstances stare us in the face each day.  The challenge is to remember.  Remember the only thing that matters is Christ and Him glorified.  He is the rock in which we hide.  His love for us is greater than that of anyone we know.  He is for us. He is Healer and Redeemer, Strength and Peace.  This Thanksgiving, turn your eyes upon Jesus, then the circumstances do grow strangely dim.

Mary is a pretty five-year-old girl with big brown eyes and a father who kicked her out onto the streets in one of the most dangerous parts of the world. Her crime: the local priest had denounced her as a witch and blamed her “evil powers” for causing her mother’s death….

“Everyone needs compassion, a love that’s never failing…let mercy fall on these children…”

Election 08

If you haven’t already heard…tomorrow the next President of the United States will be decided.  A lot of change will be occurring in our country in the next months and this makes a lot of us uncomfortable.  So let’s focus on what will not be changing

God is still on the throne.  His love for you is still extravagant.  He still desires for you to be more like His son, Jesus Christ….the list could go on and on.

Church–whoever is elected President will not change what we are called to do and be.  We are called to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves.  Let’s start worrying about our obedience and less about the election…
